INFORMATION ON DEVELOPEMNT OF PEOPLE’S PROJECT “The Big Golden Ring of Russia”
The people’s project “The Big Golden Ring of Russia”, notwithstanding a difficult economic situation is in progress.
To reveal the original culture of peoples of Russia for native residents and for the whole world, to restore “all together” monuments of culture and history of our country – is the mission of our project.
As of August 1, 2009, 41 regions of Russia entered into it.
At the meeting of the Board Presidium of the Ministry of sports, tourism and youth policy of RF dated January 29, 2009, it was specifically mentioned that tourism development both in Russia and globally is considered an anti-crisis measure which fosters setting up of new employments, increases incomes of people and budgets of all levels.
According to experts, 3-4 tourists provide for one job in the national economy whereas one job created in the tourist sector results in emerging of not less than 20 jobs in associate sectors.
The Board Presidium of the Ministry of sports, tourism and youth policy of RF approved a decision “On support in promoting the national brand “The Big Golden Ring of Russia””.
It is not by accident that under the initiative of Russian regions and that of the Members of the Board of Trustees within the frame of the people’s project a national travel project “Searching treasures of Russia” gained development.
Jointly with regions’ administrations there were worked out pilot national travel routes: around Kursk, Tambov, Lipetsk, Ryazan, Tyumen, Belgorod, Penza, Astrakhan, Saratov, Nizhniy Novgorod oblasts, the Republic of Mordovia. The toughest thing in this work is to ensure quality of services and low prices for appeal of the cultural and educational tourism within the environment of economic downturn. This is reached by introducing quality standards of the travel product.
For large-scale promotion of the national cultural heritage and fostering the national brand “The Big Golden Ring of Russia” a number of major projects are in progress:
1. With the support from the Ministry of Culture of RF and regions of Russia there is being made a series of documentaries “Secrets of the Big Golden Ring of Russia”. During 2008-2009 there have been made eight documentaries about national culture and history monuments of Moscow, the Republics of Tatarstan, Dagestan, Karelia; as well Tyumen, Nizhniy Novgorod, Astrakhan, Belgorod oblasts. In 2010 there is scheduled the production of ten parts of a series devoted to the cultural heritage of the following republics: Bashkortostan, Ingushetia, Komi, Mari El, Mordovia, Chuvashia, the Krasnodar territory, as well Kaliningrad, Penza and Kirov oblasts.
2. To the open contest of non-profit NGOs which have a social significance in the sphere of education, arts, culture and public diplomacy to the Russian public organisation “Institute of public society challenges” there was submitted a draft Interactive tourist map “The Big Golden Ring of Russia” which represents national travel routes of Russia.
3. At the All-Russia Exhibition Centre in the pavilion #1 Russia there is being prepared an interactive exposition “Searching Treasures of Russia” – a tour around The Big Golden Ring of Russia. This project will become a visit card of Russia’s culture and history, shall ensure a powerful drive for development of the inner and incoming tourism of Russia.
4. There has been established a unique travel club “Searching treasures of Russia” , the members of which are not only members of the Board of Trustees, but famous public people, science and arts representatives as well, all those who learn about their country with excitement opening up cultural and historical heritage in a new way.
5. Jointly with Mr. A.S. Dzasokhov, a member of the Board of Trustees, the Chairman of the Committee of the Council of Federation on culture, there are being prepared documents for granting the project the status of a UNESCO project in Russia.
6. Agreements of information cooperation with a big number of mass media have been signed.
A significant direction of activities is assistance for restoration of Russia’s monuments of culture.
In 2008 in the State Kremlin Palace there was held a concert “The Light of the White Mountain”, devoted to the National Unity Day. The concert would not have taken place without support of the members of the Board of Trustees: D.V. Gaev, V.I. Baranov, V.I. Resin, L.I. Shvetsova, S.L. BaYDAKOV, O.M. Tolkachov, V.I. Malyshkov, A.P. Torshin, V.A. Ozerov.
The Rozhdestvensky monastery in Moscow which is under patronage of the people’s project is being actively restored.
There has been made a documentary “Secrets of Rozhdestvensky monastery”, which has become a Laureate of the international film festival “Effulgent Angel”.
Last year the spiritual trustee of all initiatives of our people’s project His Holiness Alexis II Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia passed away. We shall never forget his invaluable support in holding charity concerts “The Light of the White Mountain” in the State Kremlin Palace. His Holiness Alexis II Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia always assisted with our charity actions on raising funds for restoration of the Rozhdestvensky monastery.
On November 4, 2007 His Holiness Alexis II Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia commenced erection of a chapel “In the name of all Saints, who shone in the Land of Russia” in monastery territory, in the burial place of those who perished during the Time of Trouble. Shortly before his death His Holiness approved the design of the chapel “In the name of all Saints, who shone in the Land of Russia”. The Patriarch had a dream that the chapel should become a symbol of Russia’s unity, so far as “the Russian nation throughout the world is united by the Orthodox church, history of the Motherland and moral values”.
Our duty is to embody the testament of His Holiness Alexis II Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia and to erect in His memory the chapel “In the name of all Saints, who shone in the Land of Russia” in the territory of the Rozhdestvensky monastery . In order to fulfill the above said, we plan to issue special charity notes. We hope that with the help of the Board of Trustees we, all together will raise the required funds.
On November 1, 2009 there will be held the sixth charity concert “The Light of the White Mountain” in the State Kremlin Palace. It will give start to the action of raising funds for the chapel in commemoration of His Holiness Patriarch.
On November 4, 2009 on the National Unity Day we plan broadcasting of the charity concert on TVCenter channel.
